David L. Cockriel, 72, of Plano, IL passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 6, 1953, in Aurora, IL, the son of Carl and Joyce (Harker) Cockriel. Dave married Sheila Mathieson in 2005. After running an auto shop when he was younger, he was a proud member of the Teamsters Union for many years. In his retirement he enjoyed working on small engines, was an avid gardener, and enjoyed riding on his motorcycle with his wife Sheila. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his two daughters, Stacy (Kevin) Jungkans of Millington, IL and Melissa (John) Durakis of Plano, IL; grandchildren, Kaleb, Kamden, Kollin, Kassidy, Konnor, Lily, and Laney; one sister, Mary (Dan) Bohr.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Joyce Cockriel, his wife Sheila, and two brothers, Steve and Tommy Cockriel.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Turner-Eighner Fune
