John E. Smith Born: August 16, 1955 Died: March 11, 2025 John E. Smith of Yorkville, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, March 11th, 2025 at the age of 69. He was born on August 16th, 1955, in Aurora, Illinois, to parents George and Emma Smith, their only child. He graduated from East Aurora High School in 1973. Right out of high school, John began working for the Burlington Northern Railroad where he would make countless friends over the next 40-plus years. He was known for his very unique sense of humor and his love of trains, motorcycles, and cigars. He will be remembered fondly for the memories he created, pranks he pulled, and the laughs he shared. John is survived by his former wife, Donna Smith; and his children, Bradley, Ryan, and Heather. He was preceded in death by his parents, George & Emma Smith.
