George Edward Olmstead, a cherished family man, long-time church member, and respected computer engineer died surrounded by family and friends on February 17, 2025, in South Bend, Indiana, at the age of 85. He was born on February 2, 1940, in Cicero, Illinois.
George was the husband of the late Carol (Russell) Olmstead, whom he was married to on September 1, 1960, in New Buffalo, Michigan, until her passing on June 25, 2004.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Olmstead Sr., his mother Charlotte (Zavislak) Olmstead, and his siblings, Joan, Robert Jr., Carol, Michael, John, Richard, Patrick, and Kerry. George is survived by his loving children, Sheri (Al) Kroska, Preston (Sarah) Olmstead, Rebecca (Brian) Babcock, Dannielle (Steve) Swihart, and Victoria (Ryan) Peat, as well as his grandchildren, Gabriella (Ian) Ware, Hannah (Brad) Smith, Emma Kroska, Alexis Swihart, Jacob Swihart, Amanda Olmstead, Emily Swihart, Rylie Babcock, Katelynn Olmstead, Colton Peat, John Babcock, and
