Kurt P. Keene, age 81, of Manteno, IL formerly of Hinckley, IL passed away at the Illinois State Veterans Home in Manteno, IL on Friday, August 16, 2024. He was born on February 3, 1943 in DeKalb, IL the son of Dr. Paul Merritt and Eileen (Blackman) Keene, DVM.
Mr. Keene was for many years the owner and operator of Rochelle Mini Storage in Rochelle, IL. He was a proud veteran of the United States army having served from 1966 through 1969. Kurt was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Kurt is survived by his sons, Wade (Glynis) Keene of Homewood, IL, and Andrew Keene of Cincinnati, OH; his one grandson, Stewart Paul Keene of Seattle, WA; his siblings, David (Suzie) Keene of Colorado, Linda (Jo) Kilgore of Pontiac, Illinois, and Susan (Art) Melcher of Mercer, Wisconsin; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Paul and Eileen Keene, DVM.
