John Austin Shaw Born: June 6, 1938 Died: August 11, 2024 John Austin Shaw, of Yorkville, passed away August 11, 2024. Born June 28, 1938 to Theodore and Virginia Shaw, John was a graduate of West Aurora High School (1956), the University of Wisconsin (1961) and Aurora University (1972). John was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps from 1961-1965. After his time in the Marines, John assumed the role of owner/operator of the Central Limestone Company from his father, who began it in 1928. John took civic responsibility seriously, and was elected to numerous positions throughout the county, including Lisbon Township Clerk (3 terms), Kendall County Board (2 terms) and was elected by the board members to serve as County Board Chair from 2012-2016. Additionally, he served as a Lisbon Seward Fire Protection Trustee as well as a Kendall Township trustee. John was appointed the Governor's Upper Illinois River Valley Development Authority, Vice President of the Aurora Country Club
