Kathie Anne Mereness/Taylor (nee Sheldon), 78, passed peacefully on August 6, 2024 at Lakeland Health Care Center in Elkhorn after a valiant battle with Alzheimer's. In the days prior to her passing she was comforted and surrounded by her loving family and close friends. Kathie's early years were spent living in Chicago with her parents, sister, and maternal grandparents. While childhood moves would include time in Janesville, WI and Palatine, IL, summers were always spent at the Lake Geneva Club on Geneva Lake in Wisconsin. At 23, Kathie moved up to the lake full time with her parents and sister. It was here she married and raised her two wonderful children. Always supportive of their endeavors, she enjoyed serving as a Cub Scout Leader, Picture Lady, and Room Mother at the grade school. She ran the office at Gordy's Boat Company for 20 years, and eventually transitioned to Chuck's Lakeshore Inn where she worked side by side with her sister as the office manager until her retirement.
