Peter J. Hettinger Born: September 23, 1941 Died: May 25, 2024 Peter J. Hettinger, 82, of Sandwich, died peacefully at home on May 25, 2024. Peter was born in Aurora, IL on September 23, 1941, to Francis and Christine Hettinger. He was raised with his seven siblings at his family farm on the site of Aurora's police station. Peter's formative years included attending Annunciation grade school, doing chores on the farm, and experiencing a happy upbringing. Peter graduated from Marmion Military Academy in 1959. Peter married Ruthanne Kingsley on October 5, 1963, and enjoyed 58 years of marriage. He was grateful for those years, relishing in the life they built through mutual love while raising five children. Peter was a proud member of IBEW local 461 and supported his union over four-plus decades.
